Sombr Turns Amerant Bank Arena Into His Own New York City

Shane Michael Boose, also famously known as Sombr, has quickly made a name for himself with a unique sound and style that feel entirely his own. Seeing him at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, FL, made it clear to me as to why so many people are drawn to him.

The stage setup was an experience of its own. Designed to resemble a New York City street corner, the set featured a graffiti-covered pizza shop, a dumpling house, and the ornate entrance to Hotel Canal. Inspired by Canal and Orchard streets, it felt less like a regular concert stage and more like stepping into a scene built around Sombr’s music.

The moment the show began, the energy in the room was contagious. As someone who already loves his music, I was excited to experience the performance in full, and it most definitely didn’t disappoint. The crowd was dancing, singing along, and feeding off every moment. There was a genuine sense of excitement throughout the arena, with fans completely caught up in the music and the experience around them. The exact feeling that has me returning to concerts again and again.

Sombr's stage presence felt like he was in his happy place, and his enthusiasm carried into the crowd. There’s something special about watching an artist perform songs you already love and realizing that everyone around you has found something in that music, too.

For someone who started so young, recording music in his bedroom, Sombr is immensely talented. There’s confidence in the way he approaches his performance that makes it easy to imagine him continuing to grow into even bigger stages. He has the music, the presence, and the ability to create an experience that stays with you after the final song.

Walking away from Amerant Bank Arena, I felt even more excited to see what comes next. Sombr is an artist worth paying attention to, and if this performance is any indication, he has a lot more to give.
