Snail Mail
The S&M tour made its stop at The Beacham in Orlando on October 16, bringing a night of indie rock, dreamy guitar riffs, and a crowd that was more than ready for the lineup. The night was a celebration of artistry and the music that has made them staples of the indie scene.
Scarlet Rae’s set was the perfect introduction to the night, setting the tone for Soccer Mommy with beautiful vocals and incredible guitar playing. Her performance was simple but exactly what it needed to be, letting the music speak for itself. The crowd welcomed her with open arms, making her a great fit for a lineup that only got better as the night went on.
Soccer Mommy, the Nashville-based project of Sophie Allison, kept the energy going with a set that stayed true to the sound fans have come to love. Tracks like “Circle the Drain,” “Shotgun,” and “Your Dog” brought familiar favorites to the stage, while the crowd showed its love throughout the performance, even breaking into chants of “Mommy.” Allison also played “Rings of Saturn,” a newer track released just a couple of weeks earlier, delivering the indie-pop sound that has become a signature of her music.
When Snail Mail took the stage, the crowd erupted. The Baltimore-based Lindsey Jordan brought a new wave of energy to The Beacham, with a packed balcony and an audience ready for every moment. Her vocals and the band’s instrumentation sounded remarkably close to the studio
recordings, giving fans the sound they know and love while still delivering an electric live performance. The energy in the room was insane, and Snail Mail brought the crowd back to life with a set that made it easy to see just how much her music means to her fans.
From Scarlet Rae’s understated opening set to Soccer Mommy’s familiar indie sound and Snail Mail’s explosive stage presence, the night was a perfect representation of indie music. Each artist brought something different to the stage, but together, they created a night that felt made for indie fans.
